Hawai‘i Surf Foundation (HSF), formerly Hawai‘i Surf Association (HSA), is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening Hawai‘i’s surf communities through youth development, mentorship, and cultural stewardship. Rooted in Hawai‘i’s deep surf heritage, our mission is to create opportunities for young surfers to grow not only as athletes, but as confident, respectful leaders within their communities.
Through our programs and events, HSF provides pathways for youth to develop ocean skills, build character, and learn the values of teamwork, responsibility, and sportsmanship. By connecting younger generations with experienced surfers, mentors, and community leaders, we help preserve the traditions and lifestyle that make surfing such an important part of island life.
The Hawai‘i Surf Foundation supports youth through regional surf leagues on Kaua‘i, statewide boardriders clubs that foster mentorship and team culture and community initiatives that celebrate and preserve surf heritage. These programs are largely operated by volunteers who share a passion for empowering the next generation through surfing.
